Stanley / November 14, 2014 / Comments Off on Haunted Bingo Halls

One of the most charismatic aspects of bingo halls is the way that they are put together and actually run – the game itself is so open to interpretation that the theme, style and rules can change almost entirely before you even begin in the first place! While the game itself is immensely popular due to the massive social element, one of the main draws that people find bring them back for more bingo madness is the different themes and styles found within the game itself – so, why not make a little list of bingo halls’ that you’d love to go and visit due to their more paranormal nature?

The Invicta

An old-school cinema-turned-bingo hall, it was at one point a prime place for people to go and hide during the Blitz attacks of the Second World War. In the 1970s, there were semi-regular occurrences of people seeing a ghostly figure wearing a green suit. After contact with a spiritual expert, they conducted that his name was Bill Malan, who had previously worked as a commissionaire of the cinema.

The Gaumont

The Gaumont, found in Surrey, is well-known for its ghost stories. Also originally a cinema, there have been several sightings of a grey man in this area – and in 2011 a team of ghost hunters were given permission to stay the night and try to get to the source of what was going on. While evidence was inconclusive, there are plenty of crazy stories about the Gaumont and its paranormal inhabitants.

McLaughlin Hall

Found in South Dakota, this stateside bingo hall was built on a burial site – can you see where this is going? – and ever since it was first constructed there have been numerous calls about some rather strange goings-on from within and outrageous, otherworldly noises.
